Veteran Nollywood Actor Elegbeje Ado Dies At 66
Veteran Yoruba Nollywood actor Taiwo Adeshina, popularly known as Elegbeje Ado, has died at the age of 66.
Daily Post reported that the actor died on Monday, June 29, after a brief illness.
Punch also reported his death, saying fellow actor Kunle Afod confirmed the news in a tribute shared on Instagram on Tuesday.
Daily Post reported that Seun Oloketuyi, founder of the Best of Nollywood Awards, also confirmed the passing and described Adeshina as a Nollywood legend.
The reports described Elegbeje Ado as a veteran Yoruba film actor with more than two decades in the industry. Daily Post also reported that he was a pastor.
Tributes from colleagues and fans have begun to follow the announcement of his death.
Punch reported that Adeshina spent more than 20 years in the Yoruba movie industry, where he became known for his appearances in traditional and comic roles.
