Troops of Operation Fansan Yamma have rescued a kidnapped man in Kaduna State and repelled a separate attack in Sokoto State, according to a military update reported by Vanguard.

The military said troops from Sector 1 responded on August 20 after a 43-year-old man was abducted around Awon Community in Kachia Local Government Area of Kaduna State. The troops pursued the attackers into nearby bushes, forcing them to abandon the victim.

The rescued man was later reunited with his family. The statement was attributed to Lieutenant Colonel Aliyu Danja, Media Information Officer for the operation.

In Sokoto State, troops from Sector 2, working with local security elements, responded on August 21 to an attack on Kwaren Gamba village in Sabon Birni Local Government Area. The troops engaged the attackers and forced them to withdraw.

During the pursuit, the military said one attacker was killed. Troops also recovered two mobile phones, cash, an ATM card, recharge cards and other items from the scene.

The military said the operation would continue across the North-West and urged residents to provide timely information to security forces when threats emerge.
