Troops of Operation Hadin Kai have rescued 53 civilians after dismantling an ISWAP roadblock along the Buratai-Kamuya road in Biu Local Government Area of Borno State.

Daily Post reported that the troops also recovered eight vehicles allegedly seized by the insurgents during the operation.

The military said troops stationed at Dutse Kura detected suspected terrorists blocking the highway through surveillance cameras.

A Quick Reaction Force was then deployed to the area, where the troops engaged the insurgents and forced them to abandon the roadblock.

The rescued civilians, recovered vehicles and other properties were moved to Buratai town for documentation and medical evaluation.

The operation was linked to the 135 Special Forces Battalion under Sector 2 of Operation Hadin Kai.

NaijaTrend previously reported a separate Borno rescue involving 47 abductees from an ISWAP enclave here. This latest operation involved a different roadblock, date and location.
