Troops kill suspected terrorist, rescue six kidnap victims in Sokoto, Zamfara
Troops of Operation Fansan Yamma have killed a suspected terrorist in Sokoto State and rescued six kidnap victims in Zamfara State, according to reports on the latest military operations in the North-West.
The Sokoto operation took place around Karani village in Gudu Local Government Area after troops acted on intelligence about a suspected terrorist hideout. The soldiers engaged the fighters, killed one suspected terrorist and recovered an AK-47 rifle, ammunition, a foreign military uniform and other items.
In Zamfara, troops responded to an attempted kidnapping involving members of the Sarkin Samari’s family in Tsafe Local Government Area. The attackers fled after an exchange of fire, and six victims were taken to safety.
The military said the operations were part of continuing efforts to disrupt terrorist activity and kidnapping networks in the North-West.
