Troops of Operation Enduring Peace have killed six suspected terrorists in separate operations across Plateau State and recovered locally fabricated rifles, the military said.

NaijaTrend earlier reported the fresh attack on the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies, Kuru, here.

Vanguard and Channels TV reported that the operations were carried out between June 26 and July 1 across Jos South, Barkin Ladi and Bokkos local government areas. The statement was issued by the Media Information Officer of Operation Enduring Peace, Captain Chinonso Polycarp Oteh.

According to the military, troops acting on intelligence moved against suspected terrorists at Gero Highground in Jos South and later ambushed suspects massing around the Rafin Bauna and Gero mountains. Five suspects were killed in that operation, while others fled with gunshot wounds.

The task force also said troops intercepted a motorcycle carrying two passengers from Kuba District toward Barkin Ladi. The passengers fled, and a search of an abandoned bag led to the recovery of three locally fabricated rifles.

Operation Enduring Peace said it would continue operations aimed at denying criminal groups freedom of movement and restoring peace across its joint operations area.
