Troops have killed four suspected kidnappers during an ambush in Kaiama Local Government Area of Kwara State, with reports also confirming rescued victims in related security operations.

The Kwara ambush was carried out by troops of Operation Savannah Shield at a crossing point around Jonloji village in the riverine area of Kaiama.

Daily Post reported that one abducted victim was rescued in the ambush. Vanguard, citing an operational report made available to the News Agency of Nigeria, said the wider operations led to three rescued victims across Kwara and Kogi.

According to Vanguard, troops recovered one pump-action gun, four motorcycles and ₦64,000 cash after the Kaiama operation. The rescued Kwara victim was taken to General Hospital, Kaiama, for medical attention.

The Vanguard report also said troops at Forward Operating Base Egbe rescued two victims abducted on July 21 at Ruga Mascaru in Yagba West Local Government Area of Kogi after the kidnappers fled.

The reports agree on the central Kwara incident: four suspected kidnappers were killed and at least one victim was rescued during the Kaiama ambush. The wider operational update also included the Kogi rescue.
