Shettima, Fubara Unveil 33.5km Rivers Road
Vice President Kashim Shettima and Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara have commissioned the 33.5-kilometre Elele-Egbeda-Omoku dual carriageway in Rivers State.
The road links communities in Ikwerre, Emohua and Ogba-Egbema-Ndoni local government areas. Reports from the commissioning said Shettima represented President Bola Tinubu at the event on Thursday after arriving in Port Harcourt.
The project is being presented by the state government as a major road connection for communities and businesses along that corridor. The reports said state officials, federal lawmakers and traditional leaders were among those at the event.
Shettima said infrastructure should create wider economic opportunities, while Fubara’s administration described the reconstructed road as part of its wider development plan for Rivers communities.
The commissioning adds another federal-state political moment in Rivers after months in which the state’s governance and project delivery have drawn national attention.
