Police Rescue 12 Abducted Passengers Along Highway in Ondo State

The Ondo State Police Command has rescued 12 passengers abducted by kidnappers along a highway in Isua Akoko, headquarters of Akoko South-East Local Government Area.
The victims were travelling in two commercial buses from Benue State to Ibadan when they were intercepted by gunmen in the early hours of Saturday. The attackers forced the passengers off the road into the bush, police said.
Police spokesperson DSP Abayomi Jimoh confirmed the rescue in a statement, saying operatives tracked the kidnappers and secured the victims without paying any ransom.

As of Sunday, the identities of the rescued passengers had not been released. Police confirmed they have been reunited with their families.
