Police Recover Nine Bodies On Niger Road
Nine bodies have been recovered on the Wawa-Lumma road in Borgu Local Government Area of Niger State after suspected bandit attacks on travellers in the area.
The Niger State Police Command said police and military personnel were sent to the scene after receiving information on Tuesday. The bodies were evacuated, while security teams intensified clearance operations around the road.
Police spokesperson Wasiu Abiodun confirmed the recovery on Wednesday in Minna. The command said the victims were suspected to have been killed while travelling on the road.
The development adds to security concerns in parts of Niger State, where road attacks and rural raids have repeatedly forced security agencies to increase patrols and clearance operations.
