Police in Katsina State have arrested a 27-year-old man, Sada Tambai, over the alleged killing of his 80-year-old father, Adamu Tambai, in Mundadu village, Bindawa Local Government Area.
The incident was reported on September 21, 2026, after the district head of Bindawa alerted police that the former ward head of Mundadu had been found lying motionless in front of his residence. Detectives took him to a nearby hospital, where he was confirmed dead.
The Katsina Police Command said its early investigation led to the arrest of the deceased man’s son. Police said the suspect allegedly confessed during interrogation to hitting his father on the head with a stick.
The command linked the alleged attack to a family dispute over access to farmland. It said investigation was still ongoing.
