Police Arrest 560 Suspects In Abuja Raids, Identify Crime Hotspots
The Federal Capital Territory Police Command says it has arrested 560 suspects during raids on crime hotspots across Abuja.
FCT Commissioner of Police Ahmed Sanusi announced the arrests on Tuesday at the command headquarters, saying the operations followed intelligence gathering and community policing.
Punch reported that the raids targeted identified black spots across the territory as part of a renewed offensive against criminal activity. The report also said the command recovered arms during the operations.
The police said the effort was meant to disrupt criminal groups before they could carry out attacks, robberies and other offences in communities across the FCT.
Sanusi said the command would keep working with residents to identify troubled areas and respond faster to security threats.
