Osun Police Arrest Four Over Attempted Murder, Firearms Possession

The Osun State Police Command has arrested four suspects over alleged conspiracy, attempted murder, assault occasioning harm and unlawful possession of prohibited firearms in Modakeke, Ife East Local Government Area.

The police said the arrests followed a petition to the Commissioner of Police. The command’s spokesperson, DSP Abiodun Ojelabi, said operatives apprehended the suspects at about 6:30 a.m. on Tuesday.

Daily Post identified the four suspects as Olufemi Olatunji, Ajayi Idowu, Akingbala Oluwakemi and Tunde Ayoola. It reported that police recovered one cut-to-size pistol, two live cartridges, an expended cartridge and other items.

Punch reported a wider police update covering 10 arrests in two separate operations, including the four Modakeke suspects and six others linked to an invasion of Osun State Polytechnic, Iree.

The suspects had not been convicted in the accounts published by Punch and Daily Post.
