NYSC Suspends 2026 Batch B Stream I Orientation Course in Niger State

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has suspended the 2026 Batch B Stream I orientation course for prospective corps members deployed to Niger State.

In a notice on its official X handle on Sunday, the scheme said the suspension was due to ongoing renovation work at the orientation camp in the state.

The statement said the suspension was to ensure that corps members posted to Niger State begin their orientation under better-conducive conditions once the camp upgrade is completed.

NYSC said affected corps members would be notified about the new date and the rescheduled camping calendar, and that the decision was administrative rather than a response to any security concern.

The scheme called for calm among the affected prospective corps members and assured the public that it was working with the camp authorities to resume orientation as soon as the renovation is finalised.

The orientation camp suspension is the latest in a series of recent administrative adjustments by NYSC, with the scheme repeatedly asking prospective corps members to monitor its official channels for updates.

Prospective corps members in other states are expected to proceed with their orientation as scheduled, subject to the standard three-week camp programme, while those deployed to Niger State will be updated once a new date is confirmed.

The scheme said it regretted any inconvenience and asked prospective corps members to avoid spreading unverified information about the camp during the period of adjustment.

NYSC also reminded the affected prospective corps members to keep their call-up letters and registration details handy, as they will be required during the rescheduled camping exercise.
