NRS Launches Rev360: Nigeria’s New Tax Platform Is Live — But Can It Deliver?
The Nigeria Revenue Service officially launched Rev360 on Wednesday, April 30, marking what it describes as a shift to “Tax Administration 3.0.” The platform replaces the patchwork of manual and partially digitised processes that have long made tax compliance in Nigeria more painful than it needed to be.
What Rev360 Is Built to Do
At its core, Rev360 is a fully integrated digital platform designed to give taxpayers and the NRS real-time visibility into tax processes. The system promises faster service delivery, improved transparency, and a more responsive experience — the kind of infrastructure that, if it works as advertised, should make filing and compliance less of a bureaucratic obstacle course.
NRS Executive Chairman Dr. Zacch Adedeji framed the launch in broad terms. “Rev360 is more than a platform, it is a statement of intent. It reflects our commitment to building a tax system that works seamlessly for every Nigerian, strengthens trust in public institutions, and supports the growth of our economy,” he said at the launch event. “This is about creating a future where tax administration is not a burden, but an enabler of national development.”
Rollout Is Phased
The NRS is not switching everything over at once. The agency ran a nationwide readiness programme ahead of the launch — end-user training in tax offices, stakeholder webinars with professional bodies, and regional sensitisation exercises. User guides, how-to videos, and feedback channels have been deployed alongside a structured support system with defined response timelines.
A phased rollout makes sense given the scale. Nigeria’s tax base has been growing as part of the broader reform push under the new tax law regime, and the last thing the NRS needs is a system collapse at peak compliance season. The cautious approach suggests the agency learned something from past digital reform stumbles across government.
Whether Rev360 delivers on its promise will become clear in the weeks and months ahead. The ambition is real. So is the track record of Nigerian government tech launches that looked good on paper.
