NDLEA seizes UK-bound cannabis shipments hidden in bread and speakers
NDLEA operatives have intercepted cannabis consignments linked to the United Kingdom, including drugs hidden in bread and audio speakers.
The agency said the seizures were part of recent operations against attempts to move Colorado, a potent strain of cannabis, through cargo and courier channels. Punch reported that one consignment was concealed in loaves of bread, while Daily Post reported a related interception involving speakers.
Channels Television also reported NDLEA’s warning to Nigerians against accepting consignments from people abroad without knowing what is inside them. The agency said traffickers often use unsuspecting recipients to move illegal drugs.
The reports said suspects were arrested during the operations, while the seized substances were taken into NDLEA custody for further investigation and prosecution steps.
