NDLEA has reported a fresh set of drug seizures valued at more than N3.4bn, including opioids and cannabis, in operations across several states and the Federal Capital Territory.

The agency said the seizures included more than 1.3 million pills and capsules of tramadol and other opioids, about 6,000kg of cannabis, and separate arrests linked to the consignments.

Punch, Vanguard, Daily Post, Channels TV and Premium Times reported that one seizure involved 1,200 parcels of Canadian Loud weighing 603.75kg. The drugs were found inside 31 black jumbo bags loaded in two Toyota Sienna vehicles in a 40-foot container.

NDLEA also said a 49-year-old man, Innocent Ekpe, was arrested on the Benin-Onitsha Expressway in Asaba, Delta State, with 292.48kg of skunk hidden in a silver Toyota Sienna bus. The agency described him as a fake police officer.

Another suspect was identified in the reports as a mechanic linked to drug dealing. The agency said the latest operation formed part of a wider enforcement push against trafficking routes and storage points.
