The NDC has postponed the inauguration of its National Campaign Council from Tuesday, October 20, to Monday, October 26, citing an overseas engagement involving its presidential candidate, Peter Obi.

National Publicity Secretary Osa Director announced the change in a statement on Monday and apologised to party members and supporters for the short notice.

He said the adjustment was necessary because of Obi’s tight schedule and an important engagement abroad. The party urged members to remain focused on its candidates’ campaigns for the 2027 elections.

Punch reported that the original October 20 programme was to coincide with a National Executive Committee meeting. Party chairman Moses Cleopas had said that meeting would consider electoral decisions, present certificates of return to candidates and include the campaign council inauguration.

The party had earlier said Obi and Rabiu Kwankwaso would nominate key campaign officials in consultation with its leadership, as NaijaTrend reported here.
