Lagos Arrests 27 Suspects Over Festac Bridge Vandalism
Lagos State has arrested 27 suspects over alleged vandalism of the newly constructed bridge linking Festac Town to Alakija.
The arrests followed a midnight operation after officials found that critical parts of the bridge had been removed.
Environment and Water Resources Commissioner Tokunbo Wahab said officers of the Rapid Response Squad and the Kick Against Indiscipline task force carried out the operation.
According to the reports, the suspects were accused of removing structural components from the bridge. Wahab said the government would continue enforcement around public infrastructure and prosecute those linked to vandalism.
Punch and Daily Post reported the same arrest figure and identified the affected bridge as the Festac Town-Alakija link.
