Kogi road crash leaves six dead, two injured
Six people have died and two others were injured in a road crash on the Kabba-Odo-Ape Road in Kabba-Bunu Local Government Area of Kogi State.
The crash involved a truck and another vehicle, according to reports that cited road-safety officials and scene accounts from the area.
Punch reported that the Federal Road Safety Corps confirmed the death toll and said the bodies of the deceased had been taken to the morgue of the General Hospital in Kabba. Channels TV also reported the same casualty figure and location.
Residents of Odo-Ape joined efforts to rescue victims from the wreckage before emergency responders arrived, Channels TV reported.
Road-safety officials appealed to motorists to avoid speeding, dangerous overtaking and driving while tired, saying those behaviours remain major causes of fatal crashes.
