Gunmen Kill Three Miners On Plateau Road
Three miners have been killed in a fresh attack along GSS Daffo Road in Bokkos Local Government Area of Plateau State.
The victims were reportedly attacked at about 7:15 p.m. on Thursday while returning from a mining site at Fubok in Daffo District.
Vanguard and Daily Trust identified two of the dead as Maren Agom, 45, from Tadai village in Manguna District, and Joe Buba, 38, from Josho village in Daffo District. The third victim was identified only as Yellow.
Daily Trust reported that Christopher Luka, a Bokkos youth leader, confirmed the incident and said the gunmen opened fire on the victims. Vanguard reported that community sources said security personnel had been notified and efforts were underway to track the attackers.
The bodies were taken to Alheri Medical Centre in Daffo, according to both reports. Security was also said to have been reinforced in the area after the attack.
