Armed hoodlums attacked the Nigeria Immigration Service passport office in Ogbomoso, Oyo State, overpowering security personnel and carting away firearms, the police have confirmed.
The attack occurred around 8:45 p.m. on Tuesday, June 2, when the gunmen scaled the rear fence of the facility and overpowered two officers on duty.
According to Punch, the attackers made away with a G3 rifle, ammunition, a mobile phone, a generator, and a motorcycle battery belonging to the immigration officers.
The police have launched an investigation into the incident, which adds to growing security concerns in Oyo State, already grappling with a wave of school abductions and high-profile kidnappings.
