Gunmen Abduct Principal, Four Students During NECO Exam In Kogi

Gunmen abducted a school principal, four students and a National Examinations Council ad hoc official during an exam at Government Secondary School, Odo-Ekina, in Dekina Local Government Area of Kogi State.
Police said the attack happened at about 5:25pm on Tuesday while students were writing the ongoing NECO examination. The attackers left with the principal, the four students and the exam official.
The Kogi State Police Command said one student had been rescued and that tactical teams, local vigilantes and hunters had been deployed to search nearby forests and possible escape routes.
The command urged residents to stay calm and give useful information to security agencies as the rescue operation continues.
