German Foreign Minister Wadephul To Visit Nigeria For Talks
German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul is expected in Nigeria for bilateral talks as part of an Africa trip focused on political consultations, trade and security cooperation.
The visit puts Nigeria on the schedule of Berlin’s latest engagement with African partners, with discussions expected to cover relations between both countries and areas where cooperation can be widened.
Premium Times reported that Wadephul’s trip includes Nigeria and is part of a three-nation visit to Africa. The report said the talks in Nigeria would involve political consultations as well as trade and security issues.
Nigeria and Germany have maintained ties across energy, migration, trade and development cooperation. The coming talks are expected to give both sides another chance to review those areas and discuss current regional security concerns.
No detailed meeting schedule had been announced in the verified report, but the trip is being framed as part of Germany’s broader diplomatic engagement with African states.
