FG opens youth data bank registration for Nigerians aged 15 to 35
The Federal Government has opened registration for Nigerians aged 15 to 35 under the National Youth Data Bank.
The Minister of Youth Development, Ayodele Olawande, launched the project in Abuja and said the database would help government identify young people’s skills, needs and locations.
Daily Trust and Vanguard reported that the registration will cover youths in the formal and informal sectors, including agriculture, sports, creative industries and technology. The ministry says the data will be used to link young people with jobs, skills and other opportunities.
Olawande said the programme was designed as a continuous government exercise, not an electoral project. The reports said registration points had been created in educational institutions and would later extend to local government areas and wards.
POGMA Nigeria Limited, listed as the technical partner for the project, said enumerators would be deployed across the 774 local government areas, including hard-to-reach communities.
