Edo Police Rescue Mother And Three Children Kidnapped From Okpella Farm
Edo police say a mother and her three children have been rescued after they were kidnapped from a farm in Okpella, Etsako East Local Government Area.
The woman was identified as 40-year-old Patience Omonete. Her children were reported to be aged 14, 12 and 10. The police said they were abducted on September 3, 2026, while working at Onomi Farm.
The command’s spokesperson, ASP Eno Ikoedem, said police operatives worked with the Edo State Security Corps and local hunters during the search. Daily Post reported that the operation was led by the Divisional Police Officer in Okpella.
According to the reports, the search team moved into the forest around the Onomi-Iddo axis of Okpella. Police said the pressure from the operation forced the kidnappers to abandon the victims, who were rescued unhurt and reunited with their family.
Ikoedem said efforts were still ongoing to identify and arrest those behind the abduction.
Daily Post also reported a separate rescue in Iruekpen, Esan West Local Government Area, where 49-year-old Rita Emma was found after being abducted alongside her husband. The report said one suspect, Alhassan Adamu, 32, was arrested in connection with that incident and transferred to the Anti-Kidnapping Unit.
