The Nigeria Customs Service has released the final list of successful candidates for its 2024/2025 recruitment, with 3,852 applicants selected from 573,680 applications.

The Comptroller-General of Customs, Adewale Adeniyi, announced the result in Abuja on Tuesday and said the selected candidates were spread across three entry cadres.

The breakdown shows 1,275 candidates in the Superintendent Cadre, 367 in the Inspectorate Cadre and 2,210 in the Customs Assistant Cadre. Punch reported that the number selected represented about 0.67 per cent of the applications received.

Adeniyi said the process began in December 2024 and was delayed by the volume of applications, administrative pressure and the checks needed to complete the exercise.

Daily Trust and Vanguard also reported that Customs plans to move to an annual recruitment cycle. Under the plan, the 2026 exercise is expected to begin later this year and run within a single calendar year from advertisement to the publication of the final list.

The service said the screening system, verification structure and other checks developed for the completed exercise should make future recruitment rounds faster and more predictable for applicants.
