Prince Eka William, Cross River Commissioner for Power and Renewable Energy

Cross River State Commissioner for Power and Renewable Energy, Prince Eka William, has died in Abuja.

His death was announced by his brother, Nkang William, who said the commissioner died on Saturday, September 12, while receiving medical attention at a hospital in the Federal Capital Territory. The family did not disclose the illness.

Punch reported that Nkang William described the death as sudden, while Vanguard said the commissioner had been receiving treatment before he died. Both reports said the news threw the state’s political and public service circles into mourning.

William is the second commissioner to die under Governor Bassey Otu’s administration. The Commissioner for Tourism, Arts and Culture, Abubakar Ewa, died earlier in the administration.
