A High Court in Asaba, Delta State, has remanded five police officers over the alleged killing of a 28-year-old musician and delivery worker, Oghenemine Million Ogidi, popularly known as OG Millan.
The defendants include ASP Usman Nuhu, ASP Onoloko Dauroupamo, ASP Okoh Kelechi, Inspector Goodluck Kingsley, and Inspector Omonigho Ahweyevu. They were arraigned under Suit No. THC/ASB/CR/M/66C/2026 before Justice Marshal Onome Umukoro.
The court ordered their remand at the Ogwashi-Uku Correctional Centre pending legal advice from the Directorate of Public Prosecutions and adjourned the case to June 15, 2026. Journalists were not allowed into the courtroom during proceedings.
Human rights activist Harrison Gwamnishu described the court appearance as a positive step toward justice.
The case stems from the death of Oghenemine Ogidi on April 26, 2026, in Effurun, Delta State. He was allegedly intercepted and killed by the officers under circumstances that sparked public outrage.
