Court Orders Forfeiture Of Saleh Mamman’s Abuja, Kaduna Properties

A Federal High Court in Abuja has ordered the permanent forfeiture of one property and the interim forfeiture of four others linked to jailed former Minister of Power Saleh Mamman.

The new orders came months after Mamman was convicted in a corruption and money laundering case involving N33.8 billion. NaijaTrend earlier reported that conviction here.

Justice James Omotosho permanently forfeited Walijam Apartments at Plot 435, No. 43 Lobito Crescent, Wuse 2, Abuja, after the EFCC argued that it was acquired with proceeds of unlawful activity.

Four other properties were placed under interim forfeiture: Bloom Luxury Suites Nigeria Limited in Unguwan Rimi, Kaduna; two mansions on Misratah Street, Wuse 2, Abuja; and A.U.A Plaza on Kade Street, Wuse 2, Abuja.

The court directed the EFCC to publish the interim forfeiture order in a national newspaper within seven days so that anyone with an interest in the properties can appear and show cause why they should not be permanently forfeited.

Mamman was sentenced in May after being convicted on amended charges linked to corruption and money laundering while he served as power minister.
