Court Adjourns Emeka Ike’s N10bn Suit Against INEC, Wike’s Aide
A Federal High Court in Abuja has adjourned Nollywood actor Emeka Ike’s N10bn fundamental rights suit against the Independent National Electoral Commission and Lere Olayinka, media aide to FCT Minister Nyesom Wike.
The case was adjourned on Thursday until July 22 for further mention.
Vanguard reported that Justice Salim Ibrahim granted the adjournment after counsel to the plaintiff, L.T. Adeh, applied for more time to allow INEC to appear in court on the next date.
Punch reported that the suit concerns an alleged voter data breach. Olayinka is sued as a media aide to the FCT minister, while INEC is joined as a defendant.
The adjournment keeps the case at a preliminary stage, with the court yet to move into the substantive rights claims.
