Amotekun Rescues Kidnap Victim, Arrests Father And Three Sons In Ondo
The Ondo State Security Network Agency, also known as Amotekun, says it has rescued a kidnap victim and arrested a father and three sons over alleged kidnapping activities.
Vanguard and Punch reported that the Amotekun Corps Commander, Akogun Adetunji Adeleye, disclosed the arrests while parading suspects in Akure.
Vanguard reported that the family was arrested around Oba-Ile Akoko in Akoko South-West Local Government Area of the state.
Punch reported that Adeleye alleged the family had been involved in kidnapping activities while using cattle as cover for their operations.
The reports said the arrests formed part of a wider parade of suspects linked to kidnapping, stealing, rape and other alleged offences across the state.
Adeleye said the corps would continue operations against criminal networks in Ondo communities.
Vanguard reported that Adeleye said a portion of the ransom linked to the case had been recovered, while Punch said the commander linked the arrests to ongoing surveillance of kidnapping activities in the northern senatorial district.
