Air Peace Opens Lagos–Conakry–Bamako West African Route

Air Peace has opened a new regional route linking Lagos with Conakry in Guinea and Bamako in Mali, expanding direct air connections between Nigeria and two West African capitals.

The inaugural flight left Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos on Saturday, August 1, and continued to Ahmed Sékou Touré International Airport in Conakry before proceeding to Modibo Keita International Airport in Bamako.

The route gives passengers travelling from the airline’s Nigerian domestic network another connection through Lagos to West African destinations. It also creates a new travel option for Nigerians, Guineans, Malians and other regional passengers doing business or visiting family across the three countries.

Daily Trust reported that officials in Guinea and Mali welcomed the service as a boost to aviation, trade, tourism and regional cooperation. The report said the airline’s delegation was received in Conakry by Guinea’s transport minister, Ousmane Gaoul Diallo, Nigeria’s ambassador to Guinea, Umaru Kamfu, and aviation officials.

Air Peace said the expansion is intended to support trade, investment, cultural exchange and business travel while helping connect more African cities. The airline’s chief commercial officer, Nowel Ngala, said the Conakry and Bamako services would also allow passengers from its domestic destinations to connect through Lagos to regional and international destinations, including London and the Caribbean.

The airline now operates services to 13 regional destinations across West Africa, according to the report. The expansion strengthens Lagos’s role as a connecting point for travel within the region.
