Several parts of Abuja, including the Presidential Villa, National Assembly and Supreme Court, are expected to experience a two-day power outage this weekend.

The Abuja Electricity Distribution Company said the service interruption will take place on Saturday, July 18, and Sunday, July 19, 2026.

Punch reported that AEDC linked the outage to the relocation of two electric power towers, H3 and H5, from the 132/33kV Apo Transmission Station to make way for Federal Capital Development Authority road construction.

Daily Post reported that affected areas include the State House Villa, National Assembly Annex, National Security Adviser office, National Judicial Council, Supreme Court, DSS headquarters, State House Clinic, military formations, Asokoro Extension, Guzape and nearby streets.

AEDC said customers in the listed areas should expect the disruption while the relocation work is carried out.
