FG arraigns Adeniyi Adeyemi over alleged fake agency forgery
The Federal Government has arraigned Adeniyi Adeyemi at the Federal High Court in Abuja over allegations linked to the purported Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council.
Adeyemi was brought before Justice Mohammed Umar on Wednesday on eight counts. Premium Times reported that he pleaded not guilty after the charges were read to him.
The prosecution accused him of forgery and impersonation, including the alleged forging of an appointment letter said to have carried President Bola Tinubu’s name and the signature of Chief of Staff Femi Gbajabiamila. Daily Post also reported that the case centres on an alleged fake agency and alleged forgery.
Rotimi Oyedepo, the Director of Public Prosecutions, led the prosecution. Premium Times reported that he asked the court for accelerated trial and for Adeyemi to be remanded after the plea.
Adeyemi had been in police custody before the arraignment. The charges have now moved the PFIPC matter from police investigation to formal court proceedings.
The allegations remain before the court.
