Lagos State has rejected claims that Alimosho General Hospital in Igando has only one working dialysis machine.
Health Commissioner Akin Abayomi said the dialysis centre has eight operational machines. He said six are used for general dialysis patients, while two are reserved for patients living with HIV or hepatitis in line with infection-prevention rules.
The claim followed a video posted on September 17 by skit maker and social media influencer Akewusola Oladipupo, popularly known as MC Always. Premium Times traced the video as the source of the online allegation.
Daily Post reported that Abayomi said the centre begins work from 6am and can run until the last scheduled patient is attended to. The ministry said the hospital handles up to 200 dialysis sessions every month with support from a standby generator.
