Lagos APC tells candidates to stay in Nigeria until 2027 polls

The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress has directed its candidates to remain in Nigeria until the 2027 general elections are over.

State chairman Cornelius Ojelabi gave the directive at the inauguration of the APC Tinubu-Hamzat Campaign Council at the party secretariat in Ikeja. The council is expected to coordinate the party’s campaign for President Bola Tinubu and Lagos governorship candidate Femi Hamzat.

Daily Post and Premium Times reported that Ojelabi told candidates to make themselves available to the campaign council and stay involved in mobilisation work across the state.

He said candidates should not travel outside the country after the inauguration until the elections are concluded. The reports said the party presented the order as part of efforts to keep candidates close to voters and campaign activities during the election period.

The inauguration also marked the formal start of the party’s statewide campaign work in Lagos. Party leaders urged members and candidates to treat the campaign as a coordinated assignment rather than a loose set of individual efforts.
