Macron hosts Tinubu to private dinner in Paris
French President Emmanuel Macron has hosted President Bola Tinubu to a private dinner at the Élysée Palace in Paris.
Channels TV and Daily Trust reported the meeting on Friday, with Channels saying Tinubu disclosed it in a post on his official X handle after the dinner.
Tinubu said the conversation reaffirmed the friendship between Nigeria and France and their shared commitment to deeper cooperation. He also thanked Macron for his hospitality and friendship.
Daily Trust reported that Tinubu had arrived in France earlier in the week while on a three-week vacation in Europe. The Paris dinner came amid continuing diplomatic contacts between both countries.
The meeting was also described by presidential spokesperson Bayo Onanuga as reflecting Nigeria and France’s shared commitment to stronger bilateral cooperation.
