Applicants at the special passport intervention exercise for Nigerians in the United Kingdom

The Nigeria Immigration Service has extended its special passport intervention exercise in the United Kingdom to October 3, 2026, after a high turnout in London and Manchester.

The exercise was earlier scheduled to end on September 19. The extension was approved under the directive of the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo.

NIS said 1,477 Nigerians had been processed and enrolled within the first four days, with more than half of the passports already produced and dispatched to applicants’ addresses.

The development follows the earlier start of the UK intervention, which NaijaTrend reported here.

Punch, Channels Television and Daily Post all reported the same extension date and enrolment figure.
