Two female students of the Federal University of Technology, Owerri, have regained freedom after they were abducted near the university community in Imo State.

The students were taken on the road between FUTO and Ihiagwa on Sunday, according to reports that cited the university’s public relations office.

The university said the students were receiving medical care and psychological support at the FUTO Medical Centre after their release. It also urged students and staff to remain calm while security agencies continue work around the area.

Vanguard and Daily Post both reported the same release, with Daily Post identifying the affected school as FUTO and placing the abduction on the road linking the institution and Ihiagwa community.
