Emir Of Zurmi Bello Suleiman Dies In Zamfara
The Emir of Zurmi in Zamfara State, Bello Suleiman, has died after five years on the throne.
Reports said the monarch died on Monday. The accounts identified him as the traditional ruler of Zurmi and said his death had been confirmed by people close to the emirate.
Suleiman became Emir of Zurmi in 2021 after the death of his predecessor. His reign covered a period in which communities in Zamfara continued to face pressure from armed attacks and displacement.
The state government and the emirate were expected to announce burial and succession details according to Islamic and traditional rites.
