Troops Raid Boko Haram/ISWAP Camp In Adamawa, Recover Arms

Troops of Operation Hadin Kai and a tactical team from the Office of the National Security Adviser have raided a Boko Haram/ISWAP camp in Adamawa State, with the military saying more than 21 fighters were killed and arms were recovered.

The operation took place in the Kopre Mountain area of Hong Local Government Area on August 27, 2026, according to statements carried by the verified reports. The joint force included newly inducted troops of 226 Battalion deployed to Sector 4 in Adamawa.

Military officials said the troops moved through difficult terrain before attacking the camp and engaging the fighters in two encounters. They said several other fighters escaped with gunshot wounds.

After the raid, the troops said they took control of the area, dismantled the camp and destroyed logistics items, including motorcycles, bicycles and jerrycans. The recovered items included AK-47 rifles, magazines and 7.62mm ammunition.

The army said the operation was part of wider efforts to locate and rescue people abducted by terrorist groups, including persons taken from Mussa community in May and schoolchildren abducted from Lassa in June.
