Police Foil Bandit Attack In Katsina, Say Suspect Was Neutralised
Police in Katsina State say they foiled a planned attack by suspected bandits on Dansarai and Kamfani villages in Malumfashi Local Government Area.
The command said one suspected bandit was neutralised after security operatives engaged the attackers in a gun duel. The operation was announced in a statement by the police spokesperson, Abubakar Sadiq Aliyu.
Daily Trust reported that the police received intelligence on the planned attack and deployed operatives to the area. Vanguard also reported the same police account, including the reported gun battle and the recovery of items after the attackers were repelled.
The reports said the Commissioner of Police, Bello Shehu, praised the operatives and restated the command’s commitment to working with other security agencies to protect communities in the state.
Katsina remains one of the northern states facing recurring attacks by armed groups. The latest police account could not be independently confirmed beyond the command’s statement carried by the two outlets.
