FAAN Clears Bolt To Resume Airport Operations After Dispute

Bolt has been cleared to resume operations at Nigerian airports after reaching an agreement with the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria.

The decision follows passenger complaints over the disruption of ride-hailing services at airports. FAAN said the talks with Bolt produced an operational agreement and that discussions with other operators were still ongoing.

FAAN also denied claims that it fixed taxi fares. It said the Airport Car Hire Rank Management System, known as ACHRAMS, was introduced to improve visibility around existing airport taxi rates and was not designed to compete with Bolt, Uber or other mobility platforms.

The agency said it was trying to address safety, security and accountability concerns around commercial and e-hailing vehicles at airports. It apologised to passengers for the temporary disruption.
