Police in Oyo State have arrested 10 suspects over alleged human-parts trading after operations in Iseyin and Saki.

The command said officers recovered items suspected to include a human heart, human flesh, pieces of skull and assorted charms. The exhibits have been kept for forensic examination while investigators look into their source and intended use.

Punch, Vanguard and Daily Post all reported the same arrests, citing the state police spokesperson, Olayinka Ayanlade. The suspects were named as Adam Ibrahim, Nasiru Kabiru, Tijani Wasiu, Abiola Nasiru, Amusa Gbadamosi, Raheem Taofeek, Jimoh Muritala, Suleiman Busari, Ganiyu Nurudeen and Usman Abdullahi.

The reports said the arrests followed months of intelligence gathering and surveillance by operatives of the command’s monitoring unit. Police said the suspects were arrested at separate hideouts in Iseyin and Saki.

The command said the investigation is continuing and that officers are still working to identify other suspected members of the syndicate. The allegations remain police claims until the suspects face court proceedings.
