Airlines Resume Flights After Aviation Unions Suspend Action

Domestic airlines have begun restoring flights after aviation unions temporarily suspended the action that disrupted airport operations in Lagos and Abuja.

The resumption came after passengers were stranded during the dispute involving Air Peace and aviation unions. The new development follows NaijaTrend’s earlier report here on the airport picketing and flight disruption.

Air Peace said operations had resumed, though the airline was still trying to clear the backlog of passengers affected by the suspension of flights. United Nigeria Airlines also confirmed that it had restarted operations.

The dispute itself has not been fully resolved. Premium Times reported that the temporary suspension eased the immediate disruption, but talks over the issues raised by the unions were still expected to continue.

For passengers, the main effect is that flights are moving again, even if schedules may still be affected while airlines work through delayed bookings and stranded travellers.
