Tinubu Hails Rescue Of 308 Kidnap Victims From Kwara, Niger

President Bola Tinubu has welcomed the rescue of 308 people abducted in separate attacks in Kwara and Niger states.

The new rescue is broader than the Kwara-only release NaijaTrend earlier reported here. Punch reported that 163 of the rescued victims were taken from Woro community in Kaiama Local Government Area of Kwara State, while 145 were taken in a separate attack in Niger State.

The victims were rescued from the Kainji Lake National Park Forest in New Bussa Local Government Area of Niger State after what the presidency described as a joint operation by troops and intelligence services.

Premium Times also reported Tinubu’s statement on the rescue of 308 victims from Kwara and Niger. The president commended the military and other security agencies, while asking them to prevent fresh abductions by strengthening early warning systems, improving community-level intelligence and responding faster to alerts.

The development follows the earlier release of Kwara villagers abducted from Woro. Punch’s new report separates that Kwara group from the Niger victims and gives a larger combined rescue figure, which is why the fresh story is being treated as a broader update rather than a repeat of the earlier Kwara-only report.
