Nollywood Actress Temitope Osoba Dies At 40
Nollywood actress Temitope Osoba has died at the age of 40.
Her death was announced on Wednesday by colleagues in the Yoruba film industry, including Oladipupo Okanlawon and Foluke Daramola-Salako. Premium Times reported that she died on Tuesday after a prolonged battle with breast cancer.
The reports did not give a fresh medical statement from her family, but said Osoba had undergone several surgeries during treatment.
Daramola-Salako mourned her in an Instagram post, while Okanlawon described Osoba as a colleague and friend whose death came as a shock.
Osoba was known for roles in Yoruba-language films, including Oro Omo, Gucci Girls, Oga Sailor and Igboro Ti Daru. Premium Times reported that she joined the Yoruba movie industry in the early 2000s through the Odunfa Caucus before taking up supporting and lead roles.
