Bandits Kill One, Abduct 31 In Katsina Community Attack
Bandits have killed one resident and abducted 31 people after attacking Shuwaki community in Bakori Local Government Area of Katsina State.
The attack happened on Saturday night in Jargaba Ward. The reports said the attackers initially seized 32 residents, but later released an ill woman who could not continue the forced movement, leaving 31 people in captivity.
The victim was identified as Ashiru Siyudi. At least seven other people were reported injured, while livestock, food and other valuables were taken from homes during the raid.
Residents said the attackers moved through the community for hours under cover of darkness. The reports also said most of those abducted were women.
The incident adds to pressure on communities in Bakori and neighbouring areas, where repeated attacks have forced some residents to leave their homes and raised fresh calls for stronger security response.
