Ogun Building Collapse Death Toll Rises To Three As Abiodun Orders Probe

Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun has ordered an investigation into the collapse of a two-storey building at Baale Road, Ajuwon, in Ifo Local Government Area, after the death toll rose to three.

Punch reported that the building collapsed on Monday afternoon after heavy rain, killing three people and leaving 12 others rescued. Channels Television also verified the Ajuwon collapse and the governor’s order for a technical investigation, though its report said one death had been confirmed at the time of its update.

Abiodun warned that anyone found to have broken building rules or compromised construction standards would face prosecution. His special adviser on information and strategy, Kayode Akinmade, said the state government remained committed to protecting lives and preventing similar incidents.

The Ogun case involves the Ajuwon building, the higher casualty figure reported by Punch, and the state government’s order for an investigation.
