Kebbi State Governor Nasir Idris

The Kebbi State Government has rejected claims that some communities in the state were left to face bandits and terrorists on their own, calling the allegation false and politically driven.

The response came in a statement issued on Saturday by Ahmed Idris, the Chief Press Secretary to Governor Nasir Idris. The government said the governor was still working with security agencies and local stakeholders to protect lives and property in affected areas.

Both reports said the administration accused opposition figures of giving a misleading picture of the security situation in the state. The statement said some communities had not been abandoned and that the government was still supporting security operations.

The issue is sensitive because Kebbi, like other parts of the North-West, has faced repeated attacks by armed groups. The state government said it would keep backing security agencies while pursuing peace and stability in vulnerable communities.
